Grow — SEO Audit

Find out what’s holding your website back.

A technical SEO audit that doesn’t stop at a PDF. We identify the problems, prioritise them by what they’re actually costing you, and can help implement the fixes.

Grow
  • Findings ranked by impact, not by how many we found
  • Written for the person who has to act on it
  • We can implement the fixes ourselves

Why sites underperform

A website that isn’t ranking usually isn’t failing for one dramatic reason. It’s a stack of small things: pages search engines can’t reach, three URLs serving the same content, a slow template, headings that describe the design rather than the topic, and a structure that never targeted what people actually search for.

None of those are visible to the person who owns the site. They just see traffic that doesn’t grow, and a nagging suspicion that they’re missing something.

What the audit covers

A full crawl plus manual review of the pages that matter commercially.

Crawling & indexing

  • What is and isn’t in the index, and why
  • robots.txt and meta robots directives
  • Accidental noindex and blocked resources
  • XML sitemap accuracy
  • Crawl depth and orphan pages
  • Canonical URLs and duplicate content
  • Redirect chains, loops and soft 404s
  • Parameter and faceted URL handling

Performance & structure

  • Core Web Vitals from field and lab data
  • Render-blocking resources and JavaScript weight
  • Image formats, dimensions and lazy loading
  • Mobile rendering and viewport issues
  • Site architecture and internal linking
  • Breadcrumbs and navigation depth
  • Structured data validity and accuracy
  • Broken links and 404s with inbound value

Content & intent

  • Title tags and meta descriptions
  • Heading structure and H1 usage
  • Search intent match on commercial pages
  • Thin, duplicated and cannibalising pages
  • Content gaps against competing pages
  • Keyword coverage and internal anchor text
  • Image alt text
  • Pages worth updating vs. worth deleting

The process

  1. 01

    Audit

Crawl the site, pull search and analytics data, and review key pages by hand. Tools find symptoms; the diagnosis needs a person.

  2. 02

    Prioritise

Separate the issues that are costing you visibility from the ones a tool flagged because it flags everything. You get a ranked list, not 400 undifferentiated warnings.

  3. 03

    Fix

Implement the changes — either us, your developer, or a mix. Findings that never get implemented are worth nothing.

  4. 04

    Verify

Confirm the fixes worked in the wild: re-crawl, check indexing, re-measure performance. Not every change lands the way it should.

  5. 05

    Improve

Once the technical foundation is sound, the next opportunities are usually content and structure. We’ll show you where they are.

What you actually get

A prioritised findings document written in plain language, with each issue explained in three parts: what’s wrong, why it matters, and what to do about it. Every finding names the affected URLs.

Plus a walkthrough call, because the value of an audit is in the conversation about trade-offs, not in the file.

  • Ranked findings with affected URLs and evidence
  • Effort and impact estimate per item
  • A recommended order of work
  • Fixes we can implement, marked as such
  • A walkthrough call with the people who’ll act on it
  • A re-check after implementation

You rank for your company name and very little else

You’ve rebuilt or migrated the site recently

You’re about to invest in content and want the foundation checked first

Someone sent you a 90-page audit and you have no idea where to start

Your developer and your SEO consultant keep disagreeing

Questions people ask

What is a technical SEO audit?

A structured review of everything that affects whether search engines can find, crawl, render, understand and rank your pages — separate from the question of whether the content is any good. It covers indexing, site architecture, performance, structured data, duplication, redirects and on-page fundamentals.

How long does an audit take?

Typically one to two weeks depending on site size. Very large sites, or sites where we need several weeks of search data to interpret a drop, take longer. You get the findings in one document plus a walkthrough, not drip-fed over a retainer.

What do you need from us?

Read access to Google Search Console and your analytics, ideally access to a staging environment, and a short conversation about what the business actually sells and to whom. We can audit without access, but the findings are noticeably weaker.

Can you implement the fixes as well?

Yes — that’s the main reason people come to us rather than to an analysis-only consultancy. We can do the technical work directly, or hand a precise specification to your developers if you’d rather keep it in-house.

How soon will we see results?

Technical fixes like unblocking indexation or repairing broken canonicals can show up within weeks. Structural and content changes usually take a few months to be reflected in rankings. Anyone promising specific positions on a specific date is guessing.

Do you guarantee rankings?

No, and we’d be suspicious of anyone who does. What we can commit to is finding the real problems, explaining them honestly, and fixing what’s fixable. We’ll also tell you when SEO isn’t your bottleneck — sometimes the site is fine and the offer or the market is the issue.

No specification needed. A description of the problem is enough to start.
